Since the 1970s, humanity has been in ecological overshoot, with our yearly demand for resources surpassing Earth’s capacity to regenerate them. Out of the 100 billion tons of resources that enter the global economy each year, over 60% are released as greenhouse gas emissions or waste. The circular economy, which emphasizes reusing resources, products, and waste, provides an alternative to the unsustainable throwaway model. Moreover, it can outperform traditional linear business models. In this conference, we will delve into the "R" principles of the circular economy, its business models, and how it ensures both financial success and environmental sustainability.
Marc Tardy will focus on the key levers for transitioning from a linear to a circular economy, the main challenges to overcome, and a pragmatic approach to integrating circular economy principles into financial and performance-driven business models.
